BOSS was founded in 1924 in Metzingen, Germany by Hugo Boss. The brand’s original product was workwear which they created for a variety of clients. BOSS produced its first men’s suit in 1953. It wasn’t until the 1970s, however, that the brand shifted its main focus to making luxury clothing. BOSS was incredibly innovative and fashion- forward. It became the first German company to build brand identity in the menswear industry. In 1984 the brand released its first fragrance and in 1989- its first sunglasses.
