Authorised retailer for Triwa Watches. TRIWA are a Swedish watch brand who were founded in 2007 by four friends: Ludvig Scheja, Harald Wachtmeister, Didrik Wachtmeister and Tobias Ericsson. The name TRIWA stands for "to Revolutionise the Industry of Watches" and encapsulates the aim of the four founders. The four founders were all watch enthusiasts and they noticed that watches were disappearing because the time function is now available on many different consumer gadgets. They decided that they were not going to let that happen and that it was time for them to start a revolution!

They used Andy Warhol's Factory as an inspiration and set up a creative studio in Stockholm focusing on their aim to revolutionise the analogue wristwatch. They noticed that most watch manufacturers produced incredibly conservative designs which didn't capture the attention of the young, changing audience. Their first series of 400 TRIWA watches were released in 2007 in fashion stores rather than watch retailers. TRIWA decided to allow customers to try them on in the store as you do with clothes instead of keeping them in closed glass cases. TRIWA watches were an instant hit with customers and the initial run of watches were sold out within a month.

A Recession Proof Version of the Rolex

TRIWA also found a lot of good PR after the stock market crash of 2008. They designed a watch called Black Monday which was themed around the stock market crash. The text on the watch said recession proof instead of waterproof and the second hand was shaped like a falling stock index. This watch became a hit with the financial papers first and then it appeared in fashion magazines being called a "recession proof version of the Rolex." This kind of original thinking has been behind the exciting rise of TRIWA watches which has turned the original 400 sold watches into 500,000 TRIWA customers worldwide!
